AlarmForgeX was created from more than 30 years of hands-on experience in the security industry — working with alarm, monitoring, access-control, CCTV and related systems, and seeing first-hand where better tools could make those systems easier to manage, monitor and support.
But there is another reason I have kept building it.

Ellie — part of the reason AlarmForgeX is being built for the future.
My youngest daughter, Ellie, has Down syndrome. One of my biggest long-term goals is to build something sustainable that can help give her a stable and secure future, meaningful opportunities, and something she can genuinely be part of.
My hope is that AlarmForgeX can grow into a family business that continues long after I eventually step away — something Ellie can take part in and, one day, potentially call her own if that is the path she wants — with her brothers and sister around her to support her.
The goal is not to turn Ellie into a marketing story or attach a private family payment to every licence. The goal is to build a real company, with real value, that can give her opportunity, security and ownership in the future.
That purpose is a major part of why I have spent so many years taking AlarmForgeX from an idea and field experience into a product that can stand on its own merits.
GROWING FIRST · GIVING BACK AS WE GROW
A wider purpose, when the business is ready.
AlarmForgeX needs to become a sustainable business first. We do not want to make a charitable promise today that a new business is not yet in a position to responsibly fulfil.
The long-term intention, however, is clear: as AlarmForgeX grows, part of the value it creates is planned to support the wider Down syndrome community — through organisations, projects or initiatives that support people with Down syndrome and their families.
When that contribution model is finalised, this page will show it transparently. The tracking system is designed so the calculation can begin from the first eligible real commercial sale, rather than forgetting the customers who helped AlarmForgeX get started.

This tracker is intentionally conservative. It counts only eligible paid commercial orders after the configured start date. The administrator sets the start date to the first genuine commercial sale so earlier development/test history is left out; waived and refunded orders are not counted as paid sales.

A displayed planned-support value is not described as donated money unless it has actually been distributed. Until a contribution model is set and published, the website simply records the commercial journey from the first eligible real sale.

FROM NETMON TO ALARMFORGEX
From a home internet watchdog to AlarmForgeX.
Long before AlarmForgeX carried its current name, the idea began as a much smaller project called NetMon. It was originally created to monitor my home internet connection: periodically check that the connection was still live and, if it was not, trigger a relay to power-cycle the modem before checking again to confirm whether service had recovered.
That simple watchdog became the foundation for something much larger. NetMon was later developed for remote shipping-container fuel systems, where it was expanded to supervise fuel levels and important infrastructure conditions including AC power failures, battery-backup/UPS faults and other system failures.
By 31 May 2018, one of those relay-based NetMon installations in Brisbane, Queensland was using a V.92 dial-up modem to report events remotely. The hardware was far simpler than AlarmForgeX today, but the core engineering idea had already taken shape: monitor something important, detect failure, attempt recovery where appropriate, verify the result, and make sure meaningful faults reach someone who can act.
That same philosophy continues in AlarmForgeX today. The project has evolved from simple connection checks, relay control and dial-up reporting into software-led VMS and device-health supervision, qualified fault and restore handling, IP-based professional receiver reporting, and the planned Edge PoE appliance.
